Young Again History

In 1987, Michael, our founder, started making pet food with the simple goal of providing not the most products, but rather, the best possible food for your companion animals. After years of intensive development, his first products were introduced in 1990. Initially working with prominent breeders, Michael's new company, Pretty Bird Incorporated, launched a nationwide grassroots distribution network which resulted in rapid growth in the marketplace.

Today, we've taken all the experience and knowledge gained over the past two decades to create lines of nutritionally complete food for fish, birds, cats, dogs, reptiles and small animals under the new name of Young Again Pet Food®.

Much of our success has been built on taking a fresh approach to nutrition and applying new ideas and technology to solve old problems in unique ways. We always look for ways to learn from everything we make. This has led to the discovery of cross applications that span multiple food lines and provide a variety of benefits for a number of different species.

Young Again also acquired and installed one of the most technologically advanced extrusion facilities for the manufacturing of our pet food products. Our system is based on Swiss-made twin-screw extruders that are commonly used to produce human breakfast cereals, snacks and pasta.

We chose twin screw extrusion because it offers consistent and precise processing giving you superior finished products. This allows Young Again to offer top quality finished products that are well formulated and well manufactured.

One thing is certain, whatever type or types of animal, fish, bird or reptile you own, you can be sure that feeding it Young Again Pet Food will provide it with all the nutrition it needs for a longer, healthier and happier life.

Breaking new ground
Throughout our history, Michael, our founder and owner has been the first to:

• Introduce multi-colored, multi-shaped foods to enhance acceptance
• Introduce naturally colored foods
• Develop and introduce species-specific formulas
• Establish in-house manufacturing capabilities
• Use extrusion for a wide variety of foods
• Develop specially formulated foods for a very wide variety of animals

In addition, Michael was the first to produce a 50% meat-based protein cat food with less than 8% carbs and no plant protein usage. He was also the first to produce gluten-free diets. On top of all that, Michael was the first person to create products with Rejuvené, a naturally-derived compound found only in Young Again pet food that helps keep the immune system in supply of the materials it needs to operate at peak performance. Rejuvene also helps maintain optimal wellbeing and physical attributes.
